When you see a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD around Woodbridge, Vaughan, Brampton, Kleinburg, or Mississauga, you’re not going to mistake it for something else. The Silverado HD has a unique style and immense capability and won’t shy away from the most challenging jobs. The 2500 HD is a big step up from a half-ton truck, but the 3500 HD takes towing and hauling capability to another level with its available dual-rear-wheel setups.
People buy trucks for many reasons these days. Some people buy them for work and push them to their limits every day of the week, while some trucks get subjected to nothing more challenging than the daily commute and grocery shopping trips. Lots of people love pickup trucks, and the 2023 Silverado HD can be configured just about any way you want it configured.
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD lineup starts with the no-nonsense WT (Work Truck) trim level, with a standard specification featuring far more than just the basics. As well as the WT, the 2055 HD is also available in LT, Custom, LTZ, and High Country trim levels. Although, the High Country is only available in a four-wheel-drive format. The Custom trim level isn’t available if you go for a 3500 HD. However, there are single- and dual-rear-wheel versions of the WT, LT, and LTZ in rear-drive and four-wheel-drive formats, and the exclusively four-wheel-drive 3500 HD High Country is available with single or dual-rear-wheels.
Heavy-duty pickup trucks are usually available with a standard gas engine and the option of a diesel alternative, and the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD sticks to that tried-and-tested blueprint. The standard powerplant is a 6.6-litre gas V-8 that develops 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque. The alternative is a 6.6-litre Duramax V-8 turbodiesel, which then puts 445 horsepower and a gargantuan 901 lb.-ft. of torque at the Silverado HD’s disposal.
When properly equipped, the 2500 HD can tow up to 8,396 kg and haul up to a maximum of 1,805 kg. And if that’s not enough for the job at hand, a properly configured and equipped 3500 HD has a maximum trailer rating of 16,329 kg and a maximum payload of rating of 3,376 kg. The Silverado HD sends power to the wheels in all cases through a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
Whatever you want to do with your 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD, there are many standard and available features to help make life easier, safer, and more comfortable. For example, there’s no avoiding the fact that the Silverado HD is a big truck. Maneuvering such a big vehicle can be a challenge. Still, it gets much easier if you equip yours with the 15 available camera views that make hitching up, backing up, or maneuvering so much easier. The Multi-Flex tailgate is also available for all models and offers six different functions designed to make loading, unloading, and accessing the cargo bed easier.
The 2023 model year also sees the introduction of a Carhartt Edition of the 2500 HD LTZ Crew Cab, which gets you Black Z71 badges, 4-inch assist steps and a grille bar with chrome grille inserts, Carhartt Gold exterior badging and Carhartt Brown interior trim, a soft roll-up tonneau cover with Carhartt logo, and 20-inch machined-aluminum wheels with Grazen Metallic accents and all-terrain tires. The Carhartt Edition comes with standard Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint, body-colour bumpers, hood vent bezel, and door handles.
Of course, it’s a cliché to say that the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD can be any heavy-duty pickup truck you want or need it to be, but that’s because it can.
